| Show MISS cANNaS JUULUS JENSEN WAIVES EXAM INATION AND IS HELD His Bonds Fixed at 81500 He Is Charged With Assault With latent la-tent to Commit Rape Yesterday afternoon the case of Julius Jensen charged with assault with intent to commit rape was arraigned ar-raigned for his preliminary hearing in police court The usual crowd of curious curi-ous men who are attracted by such cases crowded into the court room until un-til every seat was filled and many were standing about the walls They waited patiently while the list of drunks vagrants beggars and other petty offenders of-fenders were called up to tell their tales of woe But they were doomed to disappointment dis-appointment for when the Jensen case was called the defendant and all others connected with the case repaired to the ante room and the crowd was left alone in the court room Seeing that toe case was 10 ue nem ueiuuu tiuocu doors they left the room and w ent outside out-side The court room doors were then locked and the case was called Jensen sat on a bench with a countenance which betrayed utterly no feeling and never uttered a word but left it all to his attorney H A Smith represented the defense while Attorney Van Cott was there to conduct the prcecution The two attorneys got together and after talking the matter over it was decided to waive the preliminary pre-liminary examination Mr Smith so stating to the court Smith asked that the bail be put at 1000 but Mr Van Cott asked to have it fixed at 51500 Judge Timmony then bound Jensen over to the district court in the sum of 1500 |
