The meeting called for last night for the purpose of organizing a company of infantry was attended by a large crowd John D Murphy was made chairman and made a patriotic speech upon taking the position Other speeches were mad by E P HulaniskI A G Condon J E Bagley John A Boyle and A B Hayes An agreement pledging the signers to join the infantry in-fantry company was read and was fantr cmpany I signed by about 30 members The agreement provides for the formation be Known of an infantry company to I a the Ogden Rifles The purpose will be for the members to become skilled In military tactics and discipline with a view to offering their services in case of a second call for volunteers An executive committee of three is I provided for and it is expressly stated that the only officer to be elected shall be a drill master who shall provide for I such other temporary officers a maybe may-be necessary for purposes of drilling committee named con The executive I I executve comitee 1 sists of J A Mowby J M Thomas and J B Murphy I BENEFIT FOR VOLUNTEERS I I was decided to have a demonstration demonstra-tion one feature of which will be amass ton mass public meeting to collect funds I for the volunteers already in service This meeting is to take place in the opera house or the tabernacle The I committee on arrangements consists of Mayor Boyle A G Condon J H Conlist J U Langsdorn and A B Hayes The committee immediately met in the mayors office and completed I com-pleted some of the details including the appointment of arious subcommittees I subcom-mittees and the outlining ofa pro I gramme Mayor Boyle will preside i and there will he a number of speeches by welt known citizens of Ogden I speeches to be limited to five minutes There will be patriotic songs and oth r I music and a
