Show iFJE MININ LmjGRESS II I I J H WOOTTON WILL HAVE I CHARGE OP THEEXHIBIT J He Leaves This Morning For Mercur fo Commence WorkItinerary So Far As Made Up Fund to Date I 1 Jolin H Wootton American Fork Iras I-ras engaged yesterday bythe Mining I Congress committee to collect and ship Jhe exhibit Utah minerals which is to be made in I the Hall of Relics Mr Wootton is a practical miner as weli as assayer and is familiar with the ores of the larger camps of the state The committee believesitis fortunate In securing Mr Wootton for this work and expects to have the cooperation I I of everybody who is interested in haying hay-ing the state make a good showing for the visitors who will see the exhibit during the congress MrJ Wootton leaves this morning for I Mercur where a committee of Mercur j I people headedby the mayor has already al-ready done considerable preliminary I work looking to the collection of samples sam-ples of ore It is the intention here as I elsewhere get samples that will afford af-ford a commercial demonstration of the character and values of ores from the various camps There will be no I limit to the size of the collection to be exhibited by any mining property since the floor of the exhibit hall is equal to a load of 24 carloads of 20000 pounds each I While it is desired to have the displays on a commercial scale the committee will also be glad to have specimens of curious or rare materialanything that will be of interest in-terest to mining men or investors Among the products to be shown which are not usually considered as common to Ut will be saltpetre mica mineral wax soapstone asphalt mineral paints The coal companies will be asked to show large samples the owners of the sulphur beds have already assured the committee an exhibit ex-hibit the salt companies will be asked to make elaborate displays and the quarry owners have intimated their intention in-tention of being represented 1 i Mr Woottcn will go from Mercur to I Bingham and from there to Tntic I Park City and the other large camps i While the first work will be done I among the large producing camps and mines it is not intended to exclude exhibits from meritorious piospects ni I the contrary the committee believes It i I will have room for all the exhibits of I I value that may be offered and nOne j I will be excluded that have merit enough to justify exhibition Correspondence Corres-pondence is invitedfrom owners managers man-agers and people interested in mines or prospects who may intend to make an exhibit Letters addressed to Secretary Secre-tary W D Johnson will receive attention atten-tion immediately I The Cunnington company sent in a i check for 50 bringing the total sub I scnptions up to 4060 with a number j of promised subscriptions to be heard I from I |
