Show THE HOLLAND MTWE Successful Seasons Eun With the Mitchell Amalgamator L w IT Mitchell the inventor I jimd patentee ¼ pat-entee of the Acme Flour Gold amalga I 1 mator has returned from Gold Mountain Moun-tain mining district whore he has been for the past three and a half months superintending the operation of one of his machines at the Holland mine and he states that the results have been most saUssactory During the time specified the cleanup Of the amalgamator has been close onto on-to SlGOO and this would have been much larger had the ore been crushed but as the above amount represents only about 5 per cent of the assay value of the ore taken from the mine It Is avery a-very creditable showing the modus operandi op-erandi being to run the loose dirt and decomposed quartz through the machine ma-chine as it came from the mine the uncrushed un-crushed quartz being pled on the dump and of this class of ore there is now from 1500 to 1800 tons stored that carries car-ries average values of from J37 to 55160 in gold and silver to the ton the gold predominating In referring to the operation of the amalgamator Mr Mitchell stated that i recorded a recovery of flS per cent of the free gold contained In the stuff which went through it and had the ore been crushed a heavy output would have been chronicled for the season which is not through with as yet as Mr Mitchell will return to the mine within a few days and although there is now a foot of now on the ground there at the present time it is believed the season will remain open until Christmas or the first of the year and if so opsrations can be continued until the elements prohibit further work for the year During the past month W F Snyder and his associates the owners of the Holland sent in i ounces of retorted gold and Mr Mitchell brought in with him a small amount of amalgam the result of a few days run besides which ho is the custodian of 37 sacks of ore the gold contents of which will run In the neighborhood of 3200 to the ton Mr Mitchell Is most favorably impressed im-pressed with the mineral resources of Gold Mountain district and he states that in time this Is destined to develop de-velop into a wonderful gold producing snip At the Holland as soon as the operation of the amalgamator Is over for the season It is the intention of theO the-O ners of the property to start a long tunnel which is to be run into the mountain for a distance of 1000 feet the object being to crosscut the Holland Hol-land ledge and also extensions of the Sunrise General Connor and Sevier veins which run through the Holland group In doing this it is believed that some surprises will be sprung on those who are unacquainted with the wealth of this section and when the General Connor extensions are cut something big is anticipated as from surface quartz on this property assays of 577 in gold have been obtained This tunnel tun-nel scheme is a big undertaking hut it will doubtless prove the permanency and continuity of the ore zones of that section secton In the immediate vicinity of the Holland Hol-land important disclosures are being made from time to time At the BreckenrldgelUammoth James Long 1 jr continues to open up large reserves of high grade gold ore the Annie Laurie I Lau-rie is running a 100 foot tunnel for the purpose of cutting the ledge on the Senator Stewart claim embraced in the Annie Laurie group while the Silver King and the Golden Star are shipping some high grade truck The General Connor mentioned mentoned above which Mr Mitchell designates as being one of the biggest and most valuable propositions in the district is owned by Colonel P S Sowers and E I P Lynch who have been heavy dealers I deal-ers in Mercur and Blngham propositions proposi-tions tIonsI is generally believed that in the spring the Holland people will build a mill for the treatment of the ore they now have on the dump a well as the large reserves exposed in the mine which has been worke1 by means ota ot-a tunnel and the probabilities also are that next season will also witness the erection of several mills in the district |
