I HERE AND THERE The notorious old Mrs Scott was tried for trespass In police court yesteraay but alter nearing cne evidence Judge rim money discharged her The alleged trespass I tres-pass consisted an entering the city jail yard and passing to the prisoners a package pack-age of tobacco m which was secreted a quantity of morphine for the fiends I I was not clearly established that the package pack-age contained morphine and although a age case of trespass was sufficiently clear she was let off this time with the admonition admoni-tion to keep off the jail premises in the future This evenings session of the city council coun-cil committees promises to be fraught with unusual interest The finance committee com-mittee is scheduled to give James Thomson the Populist leader an opportunity oppor-tunity to demonstrate his plan of a popuiar noninterest bearing loan in lieu of the proposed issue of refunding bonds The joint committee on streets and improvements im-provements is expected to consider the petition of the Utah Power company for pofe line privileges in the paved district and the public grounds committee will probably briefly discuss and reach an adverse ad-verse decision on the petition of P J Conway for a grant of the Warm Springs property as a site for a proposed hospital hos-pital and sanitarium and home for disabled dis-abled miners in consideration of petitioners petition-ers erecting thereon J100COO worth of improvements Im-provements The petition for an appropriation appro-priation to help defray the expense of furnishing band music at Liberty park on Sundays will also be up for consideration Several other matters of less importance import-ance are billed for consideration and altogether al-together the meetings will probably be interesting very intere3tng
