| Show VANDERBILTS Placed in I PettiHar Position and Ordered to Produce Certain Books NEW YORK March 20A motion was made before Justice MacLean in the supreme su-preme court for an order directing Cor nelius Vanderbilt W K Vanderbilt Frederick and George Vanderbilt and other heirs of the late Commodore Vanderbilt derbilt to produce the books and accounts showing the earnings of the steamers Sea Bird Daniel Webster Independence and the Pacific since the ea 1853 The matter mat-ter has been aired in the courts many times by the attorneys for William H Brown administrator of the estate of his father W A Brown who was toe owner of the steamers Mr Brown claims that an agreement was entered into between W A Brown and Commodore Vanderbilt March 21 3S51 by which Brown was to run his vessels ves-sels from San Francisco to San Juan del Sur to connect there with vessels of the te Vanderbilts Brown borrowed 120000 from the latter and gave a bill of sale for the I steamers which he owned Tins was to he repaid out of the profits of the vessels The claim is further made by Mr Brown that the steamers earned S480OCO a year and that they were transferred to the Nicaragua Canal company of which Commodore Com-modore vanderbilt was the chief owner The value of the steamers was placed at 630000 No accounting Mr Brown declares was ever rendered and as Coinelius Vanderbilt Vander-bilt is about to leave for Europe the application ap-plication for the order was made at this tlrpp the Judge order McLaiu signed an order granting orer |
