Show OUR TKKIUTOniAI aIAXGgS The Tribunes Party The Herald refers to the fact that such Republican war horses as Arthur Brown C E Allen C S Vavian and others are on fighting terms with the Tribune etc The Tribune comes back and practically says that its party rumpus is not a drop in the bucket compared with the Democratic I Demo-cratic split etc And now comes the Herald and appeals to the Standard as the valiant Republican paper of Utah to state which of the two papers is I more in accord with its party the Herald or the Tribune We arc sorry the Herald decided on the Standard as the umpire for we will have to decide against the I i Herald The Tribunes party is dead I though occasionally it tries to revive it but so far has failed Tho Tribune has always al-ways claimed that it vas not a Republican Republi-can organ and that the party it professed allegiance to was the Tribune And we believe the Tribune has been fairly loyal to Its owners The fact that the Tribune is at war with the leading Republicans in Utah is proof that it has been and still I is loyal to itself Yet we think tho Tribune Trib-une is right when it says it has no dissension I dissen-sion in the party because the latter only consists of Pat Lannan Judge Goodwin Colonel Nelson and Governor Thomas and they get along fairly well But they area are-a t war with the Republican leaders and there is talk now of starting up a Republican I Repub-lican paper in Salt Lake in order that the Republican party there may have an organ or-gan at the coming election in Salt Lake I Ogden Standard |
