Show HAS CHANGED ITS NAME Meears Silver Mining Company Now the Morgan WILL COMMENCE SHIPPING SEVERAI izranmED OUNCES s Th VERIEAJD ORE DISCOVERED Good Progress being Ulnae on the Ontario Drain Tunnel Extension Face is Nov in Fifty Feet TUam tnwtli Strikes Are Molding Out Well AccuriUngr to Reports Just IVecclvcil Attorney Hall BacU From Chicago General Mining KClh At the annual meeting of the stockholders I stock-holders of the Meears Silver Mining company the name was changed to the Morgan Silver Mining company and the election of a new board of directors direc-tors was effected The new board was simply a perpetuation of the old however how-ever with but one change the election of J B Walker jr to nil the vacancy I caused by the refusal of J B Walker to act Shipments of ore are to be made from the property at once the vein having been recently cut at considerable I consider-able depth and in an incline which was being run for the very reason that the I indications were that the ore body was but a few feet away Already the company has in the neighborhood of seventy five sacks of the product of the property which goes several hundred hun-dred ounces in silver The ore body Is to be opened up on an extensive scale and it is thought that the company com-pany will soon have taken out sufficient suffi-cient to pay oft all ot the debts and remove the fear of an assessment The Meears or Morgan group lies right in among some of the Parks heaviest producers being surrounded by the Dolberg DalyWest Ontario and Anchor I is developed by a 000foot vertical shaft and a number of drifts chief among which Is that at the bottom bot-tom of the shaft from an incline in which the ore body was aut The veil pitches at a heavy angle During the past year the Walkers have advanced the necessary money for provisions tools and other expenses while Mr Morgan and his associates have been working for treasury stock of which there still remain in the hands of the treasurer some 75000 shares In the election of officers the following follow-ing members of the board were reelected re-elected M H Walker R C Chambers Cham-bers John J Daly James H Moyle S F Walker and Philip Morgan President Walker having refused to serve the company another yo ll in the capacity of director on account of his absence from the territory and press of other matters the vacancy was filled by the selection of J R Walker jr After the adjournment of the regular meeting the board held its first meeting and effected an organization organIza-tion as follows President J B Walker jr vicepresident R C Chambers secretary S F Walker treasurer f H Walker The board thoroughly canvassed the Situation and decided to continue operations as before and as already mentioned to make some shipments of ore to the smelters The name of the company was changed in honor of the discoverer of the property Philip Morgan |
