| Show HxnLEVES CONTROL Mt Pleasats G O P Primary Slimly Attended f Pleasant Sept 6T Republicans Repub-licans of this city held the first primary of the campaign last evening There were exactly 13 adherents of the faith in attendance when the meeting was called to order and possibly a many more put In an appearance before the I adjournment was takenjust 20 minutes min-utes afterwards The business as transacted was the I readIng of the county committees cal and the election of seen delegates and I a like number of alternates to attend I the state convention at Sal Lake City Thursday The delegates were R Anderson An-derson J D Page V D Candland A Crane Andrew Nielsen Abraham McIntosh Mc-Intosh James Larsen Alternates were Thomas Braby Christian Jansen A S Nelson Hans P Jacobsen A B Waldemar Mrs J D Page Mrs Ed Wall Of the regular delegates one is an unqualified gOldbug four are lcKlnley men but believe in silver through the medium of foreign Intervention and two are what were termed Bran Re publcans Five of the alternates arc supporters of the McKinley faith and the other two arc silver menThe men-The meeting was absolutely void of anything approaching enthusiasm nor was there any friction apparent The precinct cal had provided for the reorganization of the local branch of the party but as it was suggested that a portion of the part would not be able to align themselves permanently with the paty until after a platform had been promulgated by the state convention con-vention the reorganization idea was postponed until a subsequent primary |
