Show FATAL ACCIIIENTAT GLfNWOO D EDWIN J COWY MANGLED BY A S1 His Arm Was Torn t ShredS and He Died On te Flowg Day L ave a Young Wife Richfield Utah Sept 21Charles Matthews the liveryman of this place returned from his home In Glenwaod this afternoon and brings news of the shocking death of Edwin J Cowle of Glenwood The young man is interested I interest-ed in the Kirkham threshing machine I of this town and was at his post as feeder yesterday fernODn on a farm I near Yermiian In some way his foot slippe and he lot his balance and as he fell hIs right arm became exposed to the cylinders The machine could not Rtopped until his arm had gone through as far as his shoulder would permit and when he was able to draw it from the machIne it was hanging all mangled and in shreds He was not uncenseious and walked to a tree and sat down He was at once put in a wagon and taken to the nearest house which was fully half a mile from the place of the accident Dr C E West of Sauna was at once summoned and when he arrived he found that the only thing possible was amputation af the injured limb He at once performed the operation atid the unfortunate man seemed to be an a good road to reco cry Early this morning however he tapk a change far the worse and dIed at 615 His remains were taken to his lpme in Glen ood this morning where the obsequies will be held tomorrow morning at 10 oclock Edwin J UOley was the son of W W Cowle and belongs to one of the most respected families in the county He wa 26 years of age and leavesa wife A feature of the affair is the fact that h was just married last April to Miss Lydia Z Jackson one of the most charming oung ladies in the count The sad iccident casts a gloom over the whale community |
