Show j + 4 4 + t FORT HmMAN NOnS + 4 + 4G + + Fort Sherman Ida Feb 60n the evening of the 3rd the D T club gave a hard times dance which was a great success Prizes were awarded to the first couple to enter the hall and also to the counle which ate the most at supper sup-per The latter was supposed to be decided de-cided bv means of the X rays The one who wore the best costume representing rep-resenting the tramp of these hard times was also given a prize About 1 couple were present to enjoy en-joy the un que entertainment In every particular te dance was one appropriate appro-priate to the name of hard times tmes Every detail was carefully arranged to carry out the idea i Even the invitations invita-tions were written in lead pencil on brown wrapping paper and enclosed in homemade envelopes of the same material ma-terial c00 Coxeys Army was well represented as also was Horans Alley Music was furnished by Decks orchestra which consisted of two violins and a guitar This orchestra was led by the competent compe-tent musician Private Deck of C company com-pany At 1 oclock a supper was ser which consisted tcelv of hard times foodpork and beans hard tack and coffee Dancing was indulged in till long after midnightS < midnight-S 00 Some of the officers and ladies are now unpacking their party clothes which have remained until lately carefully packed away a red flannel shirts and overalls are the more appropriate ap-propriate dress in this wilderness However several of the society people of Spokane are making arrangements for a grand ball on the 15th and have invited several of the officers and ladies I to be present A special train will take the party to Spokane and bring them I back after the ball |
