Show IN RAILWAY CIRCLES PETITION OF TH CITY OP CHEYENNE GRANTED Judge Sanborn Appoints W P Cornish Cor-nish Special Master I the Union Pacific SuitsA New Car St Louis Feb 7udge Sanborn of the United States circuit court sitting in chambers yesterday signed a order appointing William D Cornish of St Paul Minn special master of the court to receive all intervening pe titions that may be fined in the courts of the United States against the Union Pacific railroad The master is authorized author-ized to examine and report upon l accounts ac-counts submitted by the receivers of the same railway company The petition of the city of Cheyenne asking for an extension for two years of its contract with the Union Pacific was considered and an order entered granting the same I appears that several years ago the city of Cheyenne I being on the point of building waterworks water-works made a contract with the Union Pacific for a low rate of freight on all material to be used in the work construction in return for which the city agreed to build a viaduct over the tracks of the company The contract expired some weeks ago but the waterworks water-works are not finished hence a renewal of the contract was rendered necessary |
