or about 2U3003 bushels over estimated weekly requirements Receipts Re-ceipts at all points were large and the seasonable weather prevailing everywhere every-where augured a continuance of a big 1 country movement December wheat opened at 84c compared with Saturdays noting price of 71M It sold at 70tiLt i 1 and then slowi rallort to71 cents under a moderate covei ng movement but this V demand satisfied the market dropped I l again V i i I The price got under puts and stayed g Isct ih 1 WI fe i g i 1 there most of tho time until late in the session The government report was expected ex-pected this morning V and pending its publication pub-lication traders did not care to do much j either way contenting themselves with I evening up as much as possible As a result re-sult prices for long periods were practically prac-tically at a standstill European crop reports re-ports were more favorable than of late I and this induced more or less scattered I liquidation especially early in the session New York reported an advance in freight rates was Interfering with export busi 1 I ness About thirty loads were taken for I export Late In the day the market was 1 stiffened hy the report that the govern pnrcntTeport would show a big drop This V caused V enough buying to advance the I December price to 7iys where it closed September closed I unchanged at 70s after I iri selling at 70 cents f Corn was dull and Irregular Weak I cables aria heavy receipts gave the mar I 1 kct a downward tendency but a demand I from shorts for deferred futures held 1 1 prices steady There was 872 rye I 5JV buckwheat 752V potatoes SG3 barley I bar-ley E67 V There was a decline in the average con V dition of corn during August amounting to 47 points but the condition on Sept 1 V was still 11 points higher than on Sept 1 1S8S 59 points higher than at the corresponding cor-responding date in 1S97 and 2U points above the mean of the September averages aver-ages for the last ten years There was a decline during August of 3 DOints in Ohio and Missouri 2 in Illinois S in Kansas and 14 in Nebraska and the averages in the southern staos are nearly all somewhat lower than on Aug 1 On the other hand there was a slight appie clable gain represented by about 1 point in Kentucky Indiana and Iowa The condition of winter and spring V wheat consolidated is 709 as compared with 8G7 on Sept 1
