| Show TO AID THE CHOIR A Grand Promenade Concert to be Given at Saltair Manager Clayton ot the Saltair resort has done a handsome thing in aid of the i I Tabernacle choir Worlds fair fund and one we do not doubt that will be appreciated ap-preciated by the ublic This is in tendering ten-dering the great pavilion at Saltair with free transportation for the choir in and fro for a grand promenade concert to be I given on Friday the 2Sth inst Mr r Stephens the director of the choir and Messrs Clawson and Whitney business managers of the Worlds fair trip made all the necessary arrangements yesterday and without doubt the 28th will be observed as the most gala event that has yet transpired at Saltair There will be two programmes afternoon and eveningand the 253 voices picked from the choir to enter the Chicago contest will render an ideal programme giving not only the three competitive selections but other lighter and more popular numbers num-bers with Bessie Dean Alison and probably proba-bly Mr Easton as the soloists The idea of the promenade concert is to distribute the programme through the afternoon and evening in an informal way so that dancing bathing and picnicIn can be enjoyed as well as tho concert There is general curiosity to hear a large chorus in the big pavilion and a great crowd is sure to attend Besides enjoying the concert everyone who attends will have the consciousness of knowing that he is aiding to send the choir on the trip which will do so much to advertise the city and territory |
