Show AN ARTISTIC SUCCESS The Concert at the Congregational Church Last Night The audience at the Congregational church last evening was fair considering the season small considering the superior super-ior character of the programme Professor Radcliffe is an oldtime favorite favor-ite and it is needless to say that his organ or-gan solos Andante con Moto from Beethovens Fifth Symphony and Evening Eve-ning Star by Liszt were finely rendered ren-dered and heartily applauded Miss Austin the elocutionist who made her initial appearance before a Salt Lake audience has studied at the Ciprico institute at Minneapolis under Professor Dickinson and her natural ability has been developed by careful training The lady has a voice of unusual strength and compass and she was heard to good advantage ad-vantage in the amusing selection That Fire at Nolans but was at her best in The Sioux Chiefs Daughter and Widder Budd Happy Birdlings a beautiful selection selec-tion and well suited to her sweet and flexible voice was exquisitely sung by Agnes Keane McNally and in response to au encore she gave The Cows Are in the Corn in a realistic manner The lady captivated her hearers with an Ave Maria and Comin Thro the Rye Of course interest centered in Mr Hubert Hu-bert Arnold of whom much was expected ex-pected This gentleman i more than l artisthe is a master a magician with the bow He interprets classical music in a way that it may be thoroughly ap predated by all His violin solos were Adagio and Moto Perpetno by lies Fantasieon Freyschutz by WebefMoeser Reverie by Vieux1 I temps and Mazurka by Wieniawski He received encores after each number and waked much enthusiasm cl enfnsi Mr Arnold is but 26 years of age and has a brilliant career before him |
