Show IRRIGATION ENTERPRISE The Leamington and Beaver Companies Have Their Surveys Filed Judge T J Anderson returned to the city Sunday morning having been absent in the east over a month He spent the most of his time at Washington but visited vis-ited his old home in Iowa on his return trip To a HERALD reporter the judge stated that his mission to the national capital was not of a political nature na-ture he having been employed to look after the interests of the Beaver River Canal company and the Leamlngton Land Water company Both of these companies have filed of their plats reservoir reser-voir surveys with the interior department depart-ment and a protest had been entered against the approval of the Leamington companys plat Their reservoir will cover about twentyfour square miles and the I people of Fayette claimed it would cover their townsite The company therefore filed a new survey by which Fayette is left on the shore of the lake The surveys I of neither company have yet been approved ap-proved but there are now no protests against them and it is expected that action ac-tion will soon be taken The irrigation system of the Laming ton company will irrigate it is estimated about 500000 acres of land and the company com-pany has already entered into a contract with the Hebrew colony that has been located near Oasis to furnish water for 160000 acres The Beaver River company I expects to furnish water for about 30000 acres I |
