MUNICIPAL MATTERS Work on the First East Street Pavement Begun THE DEPUTY TREASURER SCHEME Spaflbrd Says the Halley Road will bo In Operation Oper-ation Before Mr Bacons Deep Creek Road Is Built The grade for the sidewalk pavement on First East street has been put in proper condition by the steam roller and as soon as the gravel has been tamped and boxed in the work of laying the stradamant mastic walk will be commenced A carload car-load of tools have arrived and Mr Barton says the expert workmen will arrive today to-day He is confident that the pavement will demonstrate all that has been said in its favor and the property owners appear to be equally confident The work will doubtless be commenced this week
