By RITA BROWN 295-2790 As we muddle through this life we tend to need someone we can look up to and do as they do. We all have our heroes or as we say in modern speech, role models we try to pattern our lives after. Some people have several heroes, someone they admire. We may not do this consciously but anyone we look up to becomes our role model. As an infant there is our mother. She fills our lives. Our father comes next. As we grow older we leave home and come in contact with other people. We choose other models; teachers, friends, leaders, neighbors, etc. It is that choice which makes a person wish they had ESP or some other devise to see into the future. Sometimes making a choice is a lonely feeling. When a person per-son gets down to the basics any choice we make in this life depends de-pends only on you. How do you want your choice to affect you and those you love? The hero a person chooses affects your life and also many other people. Perhaps you are a hero to someone else. They are looking up to you and patterning pat-terning their actions and decisions deci-sions after the decisions and actions you make. That is a scarry thought. A person's children are not the only ones a person's actions affect. Everyone Every-one v. ho comes in contact with a person is affected. Heroes are a necessary part of life. Our friends, leaders, neighbors, and family are there to reach out to. as they reach out to us. Bountiful South Stake had their stake conference on Sept. 20 in the Regional Center.
