Show THE DAVIS RECITAL A Large Audience Pleasantly Entertained I S Enter-tained Last Evening I Vocal and Instrumental Selections and Recitations Kindergarten Exercises at Rowland Hall Alumni Reunion The auditorium of the Congregational church was crowed to its utmost capacity last evening with an appreciative audience the event being the second sec-ond annual recital of Professor and Mrs O F Davis assisted by Miss Gratia Flanders and given under the auspices af the Y M C A The programme rendered dered was rather long but nevertheless nn unusually meritorious one That it met with the approbation of the auditors was demonstrated by the applause the various selections were greeted with Mrs Davis gave an excellent interpretation tion of the Cabaletta fromLa Somnabula but her voice was heard at its best in the trio Bird of Mountain The obli gato for violin was admirably played by V C Clive and Miss Flanders was an able piano accompanist In response to an encore the two gave Neidliugers My Robin Miss Flanders piano solo I Witches Dance by Pagamni also called forth an encore to which the lady generously responded by rendering Chopins Mazurka The recitation by Prof Davis demon strated his elocutionary powers liThe Debating Society being the best Mrs Davis was presented with abeau tiful floral tribute by several of the professors pro-fessors pupils The programme was changed Miss Flanders playing The Witches Dance instead of the Rando trilliaute and Mr Davis reciting spe ienca of Quaker Strong in place of That Terrible Talking Boy |
