Show A F antI A M The Masonic work in the city during tho past week or more has been to a great extent ex-tent confined to the hospitable entertaining entertain-ing of the visitinz Knights Templar Thousands Thous-ands of them have made Salt Lake a stopping stop-ping place en oasis in the desert whence they halted on their pilgrimage and partook of the ready hospitality extended to them I These visitors came from all parts of the country and it is no exaggeration to say that what they saw in bah iake was I little short of a revelation and they go on their pilgrimages with a pleasant recollection recollec-tion of the beauties and wonders of this great territory and a very kindly feeling for those who received them here as brothers and did everything possible to make their visit enjoyable The grand conolave at Denver which was the Mecca of the pilgrims was in every respect a success and was by far the largest assemblage of Ma < ons ever held and now that it is over Templars scatter themselves over the land to continue with nenowed energy and vigor their crusade and to emulate the Knights Templar of old whose mark in history is still traceable after an elapse of I a thousand years There will be some important work to be done in the local lodges during the next few weeks It is earnestly hoped that the building of the new temple in this city will be proceeded with at as early a date as possible It is of great importance to the members of the order that they have a permanent home for themselves where they can hold their meetings ana give their entertainments The proposed temple is on a magnificent scale and will meet all the requirements of the order for many years to come and will be a credit to the city |
