Show VERV1UCH SAND SAJD II This Is Evidenced by the Fact that No jllmers Have Returned DENVER Dec 23The greatest gold fever that has stricken Colorado since Ruby and California gulch diggings drew thousands of miners into those camps has now complete possession of the west Here a well as in every camp in Colorado Colo-rado New Mexico and Arizona theres nothing talked of except the new placer fields of the San Juan river in southern Utah At Durango Rico and Dolores in this state many outfits have already started i start-ed for the new fields andby Saturday it is estimated that o miners will have left these points for the El Dorado mining men in almost every town are clubbing together and offering big inducements in-ducements to professional prospectors to visit the mines At Albuquerque N 1It and other points along the Atlantic Pacific railway the excitement is intense I in-tense and railway officials and clerks have thrown up their positions and headed a great army of gold hunters The fact that of many who have already al-ready gone into this couutry none have returned is strong evidence that the sand is rich enough to keep them there New stage lines have been established from Albuquerque Farmington and Winslow along the line of the Atlantic Pacific railway and also from Durango and Dolores Colo on the line of the Denver Rio Grande The gold fields are probably most accessible ac-cessible by wuy of the latter points which are only ninety miles from them and 100 miles shorter than the other routes A stage runs by way of Bluff city U T which is now nearest the settlement |
