Show Frohman to look after the matter It seems that the attorney as a preliminary prelimi-nary step had Stenographer Marrion eaux at the Lyceum last night to catch the dialogue and he was getting along swimmingly until shortly after the curtain cur-tain arose for the third act Then Manager OMalley espied the shorthand short-hand man and for a few minutes the dialogue was entirely original Advancing to the footlights attired in womans toggery Manager OMalley fastened his eagle eye upon the stenographer sten-ographer and demanded to know what he was doing The answer was evasive eva-sive but OMalley enlightened the audience au-dience and wound up by ordering the stenographer to leave the house The latter refused to budge and then Mr I OMalley said he would put him out The stenographer invited him to proceed pro-ceed and the manager commenced divesting di-vesting himself of his stage attire in order that he might not be handicapped handi-capped when the audience showed its sympathy for OMalley by shouting Put him out The situation was growing extremely interesting when the stenographer con J eluded that he had taken down enough and vacated Then the play proceeded and the doughty OMalley says Its going again tonight The agitation has all had the effect of advertising College Chums to such an extent that standing room only signs will be required at the Lyceum during the rest of its run |
