city hall to be used as sleeping apartments for the coming excursionists was referred t the committee on public buildings with power to act A petition for the leasing of the old city granary was referred to the same com mi ttco The chairman of the committee on streets stated that the tramway would be used to grade the streets in the lower part of town as soon as the grading of Main street is finished An ordinance providing for the numbering number-ing of streets allowing one number to each fifteen feet of grouud was laid on the table The ordinance in relation to the changing of the names of streets was taken up and the first section changing the name of Main street to Washington avenue was passed A number of new streets in the southern part of the city were ordered opened The bills of the fire department were presented pre-sented The pay roll of the street supervisor shows that 81 I21 is expended each week on the streets The police service costs the city S740 per month After transacting some further business of minor importance the council adjourned |
