Show DEATH OF HENRY ARNOLD I An 0ia and Respected Citizen Passes Away Elder Henry Arnold the wellknown proprietor of the Globe Bakery died in his rooms in the rear of the bakery at 9 30 yesterday morning his death being the result of a complication of diseases He joined the Church in England in 1841 and after laboring in his native land for several years came to this city in 1848 and in 1853 accompanied the expedition of which the late G A Smith was at the head to assist the people in the southern settlements in erecting forts and saving their cattle from the depredations of toe Indians He resided at Herriman for sometime some-time and afterwards at West Jordan From 1855 to 1875 he was Superintendent of the Warm Springs Bath House He was second counselor to a Bishop Raleigh of the Nineteenth ward and afterwards filled the same position to Bishop Morris Mor-ris At the time of his demise he was first counselor to Bishop Watson Elder El-der Arnold was indicted for unlawful cahabitation under the segregation scheme and spent considerable time in England He returned a few months ago was arrested and his case was on the court calendar at the time of his death He enjoyed the confidence and esteem of all who knew him The funeral service will be conducted at the Nineteenth Ward meetinghouse at 2 oclock on Wednesday September 26th |
