Show ANOTHER COMMISSIONER The President has appointed exGov ernor ALVIN SAUXDCJW of Nebraska a member of the Utah commission in place of Airmen L THOMAS recently made governor gov-ernor of the territory This appointment tills the board and it is not probable that other changes will be made immediately although it is understood that there will be a complete reorganization of the commission commis-sion before many months THE HERALD believes that Governor Siuxnnus will prove satisfactory to the people He is a western man in the broadest sense and is not only personally acquainted with many of our leading citizens but his long residence resi-dence in Nebraska has made him familiar with this community If he is a fair and unprejudiced man as we assume he is his knowledge of Utah and her people will peculiarly lit him for the performance of his new duties Governor SAUNUEUS is the father natt of Mr HusitLL B HAR BISON and it is therefore natural to presume pre-sume that he will know better than others what arc the wishes of the President as regards Utah The two appointments which the President Presi-dent has made on the Commission would indicate that HIIHI > ox regards the board as an important body for both KOBCUTSOX i and SAVXUEKS are men with national reputations repu-tations and acknowledged ability |
