Show The Day in New York NEW YOIEK May 30Early this morning it did not give promise of a fair day as rail ell lightly at intervals but as the morning wore on the rain ceased entirely and the sun at times almost broke through the clouds All the public buildings displayed fags at half mast but there was a meagre display of bunting elsewhere The parade started at 9 oclock from Fiftyeight street The line of march was down Fifth avenue lne to Fourteenth street thence to Broadwav around Union Square The Lincoln and Washington statues were beautifully adored with flowers The procession was ed by General O O Howard with a battalion bat-talion of marines The parade was reviewed re-viewed by Governor Hill VicePresident Morton and Mayor Grant After the parade the members of the G A H went to the various cemeteries decorated the graves arous emetcIes gayes |
