Show SEEING TK8 CHIEF JUSTIC Citizens s of Provo Pay Their Respects pects to Mr Waite It being understood a short time before be-fore the arrival of the train that Chief Justice Waite of the United StatesSu preme court would pass through Provo on his return eastyesterday a uumber of the members of the bar and several other prominent citizens proceedea to the depot to see and pay their respects to the distinguished jurist The train arrived at 120 pm and when it stopped at the water tank Judge Dusenberry stepped aboard and presented himself to the Chief Justice J to whom he had been introduced intro-duced tome few years ago in Washington Wash-ington As the train came into the depot afterward the Chief Justice stepped from the train on the platform accompanied by his daughter when an introduction took place Judge Dusenberry performing the role of master mas-ter of the ceremonies After the handshaking hand-shaking was over Judge Waite excused himself fora few moments while he escorted es-corted his daughter into the D R G dining hall Shortly afterward he returned re-turned and entered into a very pleasant converation with the party which continued until the departure of the train twenty minutes after the arrival Among the citizens who were introduced intro-duced to and conversed with Chief Justice Jus-tice Waite yesterday were Hon W N Diiienberrv Hon S R Thurman Maysor W H Dusenberry A G Sutherland JSsq D T > an < > Koq It Bachman Esq A G Sutnerland Jr Esq Alderman A O Smoot Jr Reed Snioot Esq J E Hill Eq I County Clerk V L Hsllijay James F Dunn Esq W R H PaxIan Esq and John Graham and Geo Q Coray Enquirer |
