ANNOUNCEMENT of the grant was made at the annual organizational meeting of the Theatre's Board of Trustees, and the Board announced that it would sponsor a variety show on May 13, 14, and 15 at Bountiful High School to help raise matching funds. Mr. Allan Marsden, a local comedian and impressario, will direct the variety show. Mr. Marsden brought Rouvan to Salt Lake City, and has assembled a stellar cast of Utah talent for an outstanding outstand-ing evening of family entertainment. enter-tainment. OTHER ACTION taken at the annual Board meeting included the election of new officers for the 1976-77 year. Elected as chairman was David Irvine, a Bountiful legislator. Mrs. Ralph Wright, secretary of the organization or-ganization since its founding two years ago, was elected vice chairman. Newly elected members of the Board of Trustees are Mr. Dee F. Andersen, Mrs. Wester Potter, Mr. Lewis Nord, and Mrs. James Clarke. THE COMMUNITY Theatre is a non-profit corporation which was organized for the purpose of establishing an on-going theatre program in the South Davis area. High school and church drama programs have fostered tremendous interest in theatre from this area, but there has not been a continuing continu-ing opportunity for participants par-ticipants to perform in the community. The Theatre intends to provide a permanent dramatic drama-tic base which will make it possible for South Davis residents to participate in and enjoy quality theatre productions produc-tions right in the local area. The popular Christmastime production of "Here's Love" was a constant sellout, indicating in-dicating enthusiastic community com-munity response to the Theatre's efforts. OTHER MEMBERS of the Theatre's Board of Trustees are Ron Barlow, Bryan Bowles, Sheri Cole, Bob Dewey, Ann Lalli, Rose Meservy, and Bob Thompson. |
