| Show It Might Hare Been Worse What might have been a very serious accident was prevented at the Lake last evening As the regular regu-lar bathing train reached Black Rock on its way to Gar eld a great numb r who had spent the day at the former place csme up as is usual to ride over to Gafield In the crowd a little girl of about yews become separated from her mother who bad evidently boarded the Iran Just as the conductor called all aboard tbe child screamed nnd wade a grab for the platfoim of one of the coaches wilh the intention of climbing on Missing Miss-ing her hold however she slipped in between the cars the instant the tain began to move Quick as thought the bands of the conductor who was foitunately standing near reached out and pulled her back to the platform It was tho work of an instant and was noticed but by few of the passengers but there is little room for doubt that a sickening accident was averted It is little less than criminal for moth i era to ba so careless with their chil I dren |
