Show RtaItif1 isstrameitg Last evening the display window i of Car lcss i Croxall presented an attractive appearance from the exhibition ex-hibition made of beautiful wind instruments in-struments which it was discovered belonged to Mark Croxalls brass band Theie are fourteen pieces which are of the finest kind made some f them c mipg tram different quarters of the globe as from Paris London Manchester Boston New York and Chicag and are what are called tripple plated silver instruments instru-ments Some of the pieces cost as high as 135 to145 each and the whole number ci fct over 1000 The best feature is that the instruments are all paid for and are the property of the individuil members of the band In this connection it may be well to show what good musicand energy will accomplib Croxalls band is and has always been conceded to be the superior of any local organization organiza-tion ot a similar character and has approached in point of excellence some that have come here with extended ex-tended reputations The band for Quite a period kent uri no active organization but some time ago resumed re-sumed its practices In July last the members decided to get uniforms uni-forms and did so at an expense of 5500 and they have been the subject of much just admiration The band then accepted engagement and it was not long before the S500 for the uniforms had been paid Now they have instrument valued at over 1000 also paid for making the expenses of the season sea-son over SJ 500 and the band is in better trim than ever before finely uniformed with the best of instruments instru-ments and ready for further business busi-ness The success of the band is a matter of credit to the city and the members of it should congratulate themselves Their leader Mr Mark Croxall who has been prime move in these matters justly feels proud of the condition of the band |
