| Show The Matinee The Grand Duchess matinee yesterday afternoon was a grand success suc-cess The Theatre was packed up to and including the second circle while the aisles were crowded with women and children The improvement improve-ment over Friday evenings performance perform-ance was very marked the singers and actors feeling much more at home singing better and acting better bet-ter in every respect The second and third act were especially good and in the former act the plotting scene could hardly have been improved The choruses were well sung tune and time being maintained throughout through-out In fact the whole affair Wds as neat and natty as could have been desired and no one could in any way complain of the entertainment I will be repeated on Monday night and we look for a large audience audi-ence to witness this mal novel and excellent entertainment I is understood that Governor Murray bai announced his intention of attending the performance of the Grand Duchess on Monday night |
