| Show An Outrage On Tuesday evening two drunken soldiers while on their way from the city to Fort Douglas called at the house of Mr Smith on the east bench and asked for a drink of water Mr Smith drew some from the well and presented it to them immediately immedi-ately after which one commenced to blackguard the gentleman following it up with an assault knocking him down and stamping on his chest Mrs Smith hearing the noise went out of the house to take her husbands hus-bands part when the abusive soldier assaulted the lady pulling out some of her hair and treating her as only a drunken coward would do They subsequently visited another house and commenced to insult the lady when mountain grit exuded at the end of a cudgel They were sober enough then to make their escape By this time Mr Smith had informed his nearest neighbors of the outrage and a hunt commenced for the fet commence lowe but without satisfactory results In the fracas one of the soldiers lost his cap and it is presumed a clue can be gien whereby the commandant I com-mandant at the Fort can track the scoundrels and we believe they will receive the punishment they so well deserve |
