Show A LOT OF LIES m tIn t-In Which our Esteemed Morning Morn-ing Contemporary Indulged In-dulged And Which are Duly Exposed by the Facts The Salt Lake Daiy Tribune with the same brazen disregard for truth for which it has become proverbial attempted to prove something on Sunday morning against the economy econ-omy of the City Council In fixing salaries for the current year but i the readers of that mendacious concern con-cern have already learned by experience I exper-ience to accept its assertions with i the utmost allowance and doubtless have done so in this instance Writ era who can manufacture red hot sermons and place them in the mouths of imaginary iahops will experience little difficulty in distorting figuies to suit the purposes of their own sweet will How simple a matter it is to te sure to make a point when one has a ferttle imagination upon which to draw Once upon a time the Salt Lake Daily Tribnus was conducted by a eec of knaves EO cunning that falsehoods they coined were not frequently fre-quently discovered and the swallowing swal-lowing procees which has become a necessary adjunct to the peace of the present administration more or lets unknown Now the editors of that paper thougn quite as unscrupulous un-scrupulous HS their predecessors are ao utterly stupid that their mis atattments are apparent to every body Indeed it Is a matter of astonishment that a newspaper with an loto of intelligence in its eanctum could have the eflrontery to so oatbrazen the truth when facts are so readily obtainable It would appear almo incredible that a person poFsessed of even a smattering of sense would j sit down and write a score of f3se1 hoods for publication such as were contained in the article of Sunday morning when the documents tojdis prove his statement and brandhim as the prince of liars ae placidly resting within a stones throw of the place where he sits and makes his lies A satisfactory explanation explana-tion ot course may be had In supposing sup-posing the person to be hopelessly insane or grossly stupid or perhaps the victim of premature imbecility bat to account for the circumstance on any other bass bsffl s the ingenuity in-genuity of man However this artfce was not begun > be-gun in the attempt to blacken the character of the Tribuneto make it any blacker would be a hopeless task but only to correct any erroneous er-roneous impression which may have been conceived from a casual readIng read-Ing of the article in question without having specally noticed the name of the paper it appeared in In order to make a proper
