Show THE DWYER ASSIGNMENT Progress of the Sale Probable Reopening by Dr ParkS Park-S Under the able management of Mr Horace G Whitney assigneethe goods in Mr Buyers Pioneer News depot have been sold o9 with moat remarkable rapidity comparatively a very small stock being on the shelves at closing hour last night There were however a number oj volumes of excellent books and other articles exposed yesterday wbioh had been out of eight heretofore and which are likely to boom up some good sales for the commg week A fact which reflects with equal credit upon Mr Whitneys efficiency as assignee and upon the excellence of Mr Dwyers stock is that something over 6 200 worth of goods have been disposed of with enough still remaining remain-ing to round up the above amount to an interesting total This is we think somewhat surprising as well i as gratifying when it is remembered I that business sales havo been rather quietgenerally people appealing to be holding ofl from extensive purchase until such a time when they could feel justified by the approach of better bet-ter times One thing however has insured a ready sale of Mr Dwyers goods and this alone has shown ths ood judgement of the assigneevizs the marking down of the stock to figured fig-ured low enough to induce purchasers even at a time when the publio generally gen-erally have not seemed to have an over abnndance of surplus cash for indulgence in articles not necessary Among the more recent developments develop-ments is a probability that Dr John R Park DO long and favorably identified iden-tified with the University of Deseret may reopen at the close of the assignment assign-ment sale with Mr Dwyer as his agent or manager This however is not definitely settled upon notwithstanding not-withstanding the characteristic article in yesterdays Tribune which was wholly premature and unauthentic in its detail as there still remains several matters of importance pending pend-ing the adjustment of which nothing in that direction will be commenced |
