Show Celebrates 89th Mamie Call Holbrook, long time resident of West Bountiful, Boun-tiful, and one of the few : women who have the distinction distinc-tion of living with the same man for 64 years, was feted at a family party honoring her 89th birthday Monday night. INCLUDED in the list of guests were daughter Elaine and husband Matthew Williams, of Montpelier, Ida.; daughter Florence and hus- " . -I I ' band Theron Davids, of Chesterfield, Ches-terfield, Ida. ; and sister Lucy Beers, Salt Lake City. Mamie was born Nov. 15, 1887 to Chester V. and Min-narette Min-narette Barlow Call at Bountiful. Boun-tiful. She was born in the home of which she is now living. liv-ing. Her schooling was completed in Bountiful and in Chesterfield, Ida. She was married to Earl Holbrook in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, Nov. 11, 1908. THE HOLBROOKS worked together homesteading property in Chesterfield, Ida. They returned to West Bountiful Boun-tiful in 1946 when they sold their farm in Idaho. Their flower gardens were a sight to behold. One of their greatest ambitions each year was to keep a well cared for lot and to cultivate fruits and vegetables vegeta-bles for the family. Mamie and Earl are the parents of seven children Lawrence E., Lila H. Stegelemeir, Florence H. Davids, Wilda Phelps and Elaine H. Williams, twins Cal V. Holbrook and Max B. Holbrook. They are the grandparents of 27 grandchildren, 60 greatgrandchildren great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. EARL died Jan. 4, 1972. Since then Mamie has attended at-tended the temple as often as possible, completed a quilt a day many times, worked in her yard, and been active in the church and the community. com-munity. Mamie was Relief Society president while the children were growing up, served as the Sunday School librarian, was and is a visiting teacher, has spent many years working in her family genealogy. MAMIE has been blessed with good health most of her life and is able, at the present to set a pace which is difficult to "keep up with" by people 20 years her junior, am |
