Show Another Chance At Some Deer One last chance may arise for luckless hunters. Four deer herd units may hold five-day notice hunts following follow-ing the regular season. One of the major critera, as to whether or not these hunts will be called, is the weather. FIVE-DAY notice control hunts will be called in areas that are typically over-populated over-populated with concentrations concentra-tions of deer as they move out of the high country into the foothills. This migration is determined, m part, by the amount of available food and snowfall depths. Cache, Rich County part; Woodruff, Crawford Mountain Moun-tain part; a portion of Lost Creek and part of East Canyon will issue 100 ant-lerless ant-lerless permits on a drawing basis, if conditions warrant. FORMAL announcement of the hunts will be made to the public through newspapers and other news media in the . event sufficient numbers of deer move into the areas mentioned. If the late season control hunts are called, applications will be accepted at the Salt Lake office of the Division of Wildlife Resources for five days following the public notice. PERMITS will either be mailed to successful applicants or distributed at a checking station near the hunting unit, as outlined in the hunt announcement. |
