Show SUBMITTED People of Panguitch Are Anxious to Secure Control of Adjoin Adjoining jug ing Land For the purpose of attending the regu regular regular lar monthly meeting of the state land board Commissioner M 11 M 11 Steele of Pan Panguitch gultch arrived In Salt Lake yest yesterday He reported that the weather conditions have been unusually severe In his locality this winter temperatures much below nor normal normal mal being experienced According to Mr Steele the Inhabitants of Panguitch and surrounding country are worrying at present over their Inability to I take over the 00 acres of bench land just east of which Is now covered by a canal and reservoir and which will be completed by the state In the spring The water for this reservoir and canal Is from the head of the So Se Sevier vier river OWing t to the fact that the region Is not heavily settled Mr Steele says the rant mat matter ten ter ot of taking over the entire acres at 30 00 an acre a total of Is looking too large for the people of that section to handle One way out of the difficulty which was suggested at a town meeting held last week is the proposition that the people guarantee to take over 2000 acres of the tract at the actual cost which Is not to exceed 30 an acre A committee was appointed at the meeting to call upon the state officials and submit this and Mr Steele says that Indications point to Its being accepted |
