Show I EES CGSFOOnMioo I Don Spainhower, College Relations Director for Weber State College, has been assigned as-signed additional responsibilities respon-sibilities in that office and also al-so given duties formerly held by the Director of Information Services. IN announcing the new alignment, WSC President Joseph L. Bishop said Mr Spainhower will have responsibility respon-sibility for managing personnel person-nel in the news bureau, alumni office, publications office, cultural affairs office, program bureau and in sports information. He will retain his responsibilities respon-sibilities in public relations and in serving the electronic media. ANN Garrett, former director of Information Ser- vices, resigned in June. Public relations activities include coordination of events and activities on campus involving in-volving the administration, institutional council, legislators, legisla-tors, special campus visitors and community groups, plus those activities involving a news or public relations need. THE COLLEGE Relations office also works in correlation correla-tion with the Office of Development and its director, Dean Hurst, on some campus . special events. Also involved in the reorganization reor-ganization is the addition of Ray Wight, veteran newsman, news-man, to the News Bureau. Mr. Wight will handle the dissemination of news to print media and serve as an editor and consultant, in addition to his writing assignments. HE IS a former reporter and editor for the Ogtien Standard-Examiner and the Salt Lake Tribune. He has also al-so been an assistant professor on the journalism staffs at Brigham Young University and the University of Montana. Mon-tana. Others in the College Relations Rela-tions office include: Lou Gladwell, news director; Dave Midget, news writer;-Alan writer;-Alan Hall, alumni director; Arlene Wilson, comment editor; edi-tor; Edie Hester, publications specialist; Dan Martino, director of cultural affairs, and Pat Kiddy, secretary. ALSO included, but housed elsewhere, are program bureau director Dick Davis, and Sports Information Director, John Peterson. |
