I i FOUR RECORDS I AT MEET New York Oct 5 Four Indoor records were broken tonight at Madison Square Garden at the conclusion of the annual indoor track and field meet of the Ama Amateur Amateur Amateur Athletic union The most Interesting contest was the run won by Melvin Mevin W V Sheppard She pard of the can Athletic club He defeated Harry Gissing of the New York Athletic club by two yards Sheppards time was 35 or 15 of a second better than the national indoor record he established previously In winning the final heat hent of the dash J 1 J Eller Ellor of the Athletic club made the distance in 15 15 seconds bettering his time of a year ago by 15 of a second Ray C Ewry of the New York Athletic club hung up a new indoor figure of ot 34 3 feet 1 Inch in the standing jumps W Happeny of the Montreal Athletic association won the pole vault for height I with 11 feet 6 inches
