Show J SOAP OPERA WEEK U Soaps'ers come, go; on-location in Paris By NANCY M. REICHARDT NEW YORK We have several cast entrances and exits to report, but two of the most surprising are the axings of "All My Children's" Peter White and Francesca James (Line and Kelly Tyler). Two other exits include Araine Munker (Melinda Gray on "As the World Turns") and Jack McGee (Wally McFadden on "All My Children"). Both actors were not happy with their soap character's development devel-opment and didn't renew their contracts. Another unhappy lady was Sandy Gabriel, who joined "All My Children" as Edna Thornton Sago about two years ago. Sandy decided to split her soap acting chores when "AMC" execs refused to allow her to do outside work, such as a "Love Boat" episode. Daytime entrants include Trent Jones as rock singer Ken George Jones on "Ryan's Hope," and Tony Cummings who has joined "Another World" as Kit's brother, Rick Halloway. Rick is more or less the Halloway family black sheep, and he's slated to befriend Kit's new husband, Joey Perrini. Other new cast members added to the lineup for NBC's new "Texas" show will include Ann McCarthy (ex-Bambi (ex-Bambi Brewster on "Love of Life"), Chandler Hill Harben (ex-Ben Harper on "LOL") and Barbara Rucker (ex-Sandy Hughes on "ATWT"). With the influx of on-location shooting in soap operas, "One life to Live" has gone out of its way (and perhaps its budget) to provide that show's viewers with romantic, exotic scenes in the very near future. While other soaps have utilized uti-lized Caribbean island locations, loca-tions, "OLTL" has taken performers per-formers Jacquie Courtney (Pat Kendall) and Robert Woods (Bo Buchanan) to none other than Paris, France, to tape several episodes of upcoming shows. All this should give "OLTL" watchers a mini-tour of the City of Lights, with a little conflict thrown in by Dorian Lord. (Robin Strasser's scenes won't be taped in Paris, however; they'll be done on the studio's sound stage here in New York.) (Have a question about soap operas?
