Show Wildcats Slip Past Highland Woods Cross coach Bob Steele knew the dual meet with Highland would be close but even he thought he'd have more breathing room than he did. Going into the 185 pound class the Rams knew they needed a pin to beat the Cats in the meet but Huntsman of Highland barely slipped past Matt Harmer of Woods Cross 2-1. Rod Clark of the Wildcats won the heavyweight class on a forfeit. ANDY GREENWOOD of the Cats was beaten 11-0 by Pugh of the Rams but Mike Jordan bounced the Cats back in the team race with a pin over Hall in the 105 pound class. Trent Overton added to the lead with a 10-1 thrashing of Jorgenson and then David Nishijima of the Cats pinned Hutchinson in 38 seconds on the first round. SIMS OF Highland got a few points with a fine 2-0 decision over Stewart World but then Alan Anderson of the Cats dropped Barney 5-0. Miland Kofford kept on winning with a quick pin over Jensen but then the roof caved in a little on the Woods Cross bunch. The Rams best man is Mac-Farlane Mac-Farlane in the 145 pound class and he proved it with a pin over Gordon Peck of Woods Cross in the second round. Gordon had dropped a weight to determine deter-mine which weight he would wrestle the remainder of the year. He had little strength in this battle and will stay at 155. In the 155 pound class Warner of Highland pinned Richard Millward while Hall of the Rams pinned Shawn Lindsey in the second period. THEN CAME the Harmer loss and Clark win to wrap things up for the Cats. |
