FOLLOWING another great ar with junior football the .scees, with help from the iJinttful Chamber of Com--erce, ran the Bountiful 1 instmas parade. This was ' first year in the last nl that the Jaycees have been involved with the parade and are very proud to have participated. After the holidays began a new project for the Jaycees, CPR rescue education. Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a revolutionary rescue res-cue technique long practiced by professionals, but now found to be excellent first aid knowledge for the layman. THE BOUNTIFUL fire department provided the experts ex-perts to teach the CPR rescue techniques to all members of the community wishing to come to the classes. The Jaycees provided their -clubhouse to hold the classes as well as the publicity to alert the public as to time and place. Many local groups took advantage of the classes by scheduling their whole group to attend. Over 450 in all attended. at-tended. The Jaycees also donated to the fire department depart-ment a resusibaby, a doll much like the adult "Annie" doll used in training classes. THESE PROJECTS were the major community service endeavors the Bountiful Jaycees were involved in this last year, but of course, this was not all they accomplished. ac-complished. Many projects were run to raise money to finance these projects and many projeetsi were run internally for the improvement of the skills of the membership of club members. These included, speak-up Jaycee, Leadership in Action, and Communication Communica-tion Qynamics. THE BOUNTIFUL Jaycees as part of the State Association Associa-tion of Jaycee Chapters par- -ticipate in many state functions func-tions which includes competition competi-tion for projects run and for individual Jaycee awards for excellence. This year ended with the Utah State Jaycee convention held at Snowbird and the Bountiful Jaycees received many awards for their successful suc-cessful year. THEY WERE awarded four first place trophies for Youth assistance, (J.C. junior football), foot-ball), health and safety (CPR rescue education), governmental govern-mental involvement (Utah Jaycee Model legislature) and individual development programming (internal projects). Two individual awards were also presented to Bountiful, Boun-tiful, Lloyd Wilkinson' received the outstanding state chairman award for chairing the state's model legislature program and Neal Johnson was presented the very special Honney Dew award by the Utah State Jaycee Auxiliary. THE JAYCEES is a young mens organization open to all men aged 18 to 35 and is dedicated to self-development through community service.
