Show Vol Verda By MARY LANDEN 2-58S New parents are Steven and Linda Sherman, 4154 S. Orchard Dr. They had a daughter born to them on April 23. Richard and Barbara Kris-tensen, Kris-tensen, 3302 South 300 West are naming their son, bom on April 21, Paul. Older children at home are Rick, Marie, David and John. Visiting from Missoula, Mont, has been Barbara's sister. Gay Foust. Karen Kendall was married to Paul Stollworthy from Blackfoot, Ida. last week. Judi Rowland was married to Kent A. Keyser on April 28 in the Salt Lake Temple. Reid and Betty Rowland became grandparents on April 18 with the birth of a granddaughter. Daughter Nancy and her husband Stewart Baxter, son of Reed and Rose Baxter, also of Val Verda, live in Glendale in Salt Lake City. Tomorrow, Saturday, is the Mother-Daughter luncheon in the Val Verda 3rd Ward. Kathy Squires of Val Verda has been busy organizing performances for her jazz dance performing group Pizazz. They performed at the Hawaiian Restaurant for The Fort Douglas Officers' Wives Club dinner; two performances per-formances at Churchill Junior High School, a program put together by 18 professional dance teachers in the area. Last week they performed in a dance review for Rowland Butler's Studio, with whom Mrs. Squires is affiliated. Tomorrow night they will perform again with Kathy's jazz dance class at Woods Cross High gym at 7: 30 p.m. Orchard Stake will host the Northern Utah Lamanite Youth Conference this weekend at the stake and regional centers. Orchard Stake members will have these youth as guests in their homes for two nights. The youth also presented a cultural program at the Regional Center last night including numbers by the Indians, In-dians, Polynesian and Spanish students with an art display. Girls from Val Verda attended at-tended the first annual Junior Prom at Woods Cross High last week. It was at the State Capitol Rotunda. |
