Show Bountiful Okays Changes At 400 Worth Yiain BOUNTIFUL - There's going to be some changes made at the intersection of 400 North and Main Street in Bountiful. THE CITY council gave its support Wednesday night to alter the intersection to allow for better traffic flow including a signal light. City Manager Grant P. Petersen Pe-tersen said the project alteration will cost an estimated es-timated $60,000, with the Utah Department of Transporta- tion paying the bulk of the cost. HE SAID that plans call for the intersection to be slightly re-designed and for islands dividing the traffic to be landscaped with shrubs and flowers. The city has been asked to appropriate $15,000 for landscaping lands-caping costs and to help in curb and gutter installation. The latter will be done by the city and reimbursed by the State DOT, it was explained. IF THE city can do the curbs and gutter work we can begin the project immediately," immedia-tely," said Mr. Petersen. "But if the DOT does the work, the project can not begin for at least two months. ' The council decided to have city crews do the work and have the city reimbursed for its cost. MR. PETERSEN said the traffic signal has been approved by the DOT and is in stock ready for installation, grb |
