Merritt C. Floyd of Mapleton was named president. Other officers installed are Dale Van Meter, vice president Vera Anderson, secretary; Otto Fry, treasurer-fFay Anderson, Oscar Lopez, Dale Van Meter and Wendell Kelley, board of directors. Jim Baker and Gladys Van Meter will serve as the nominating committee. Wendell Kelley was retiring president. Mr. Floyd was born in Raton, N.M. He moved to Utah in 1942 and worked as an aircraft mechanic learner at Hill Air Force Base. . Bruce Skidmore, 489-9524. 489-9524. j 1 6tf c Local woman's sister dies Services were held Wednesday for Flora Jeanette Lerwill Pierce, 90, of Spanish Fork, who died Sunday, Dec. 21, 1975 in an Orem nursing home after a long illness. She was born Sept. 11, 1885 in Mona, to Thomas and Anna Mets Lerwill. She married Isaac Riley Pierce on Dec. 12, 1906 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died March 7, 1942. She married John Henderson in 1944. They later were divorced. She was an active member of the LDS Church and a member of DUP Camp Mt. Flonnette. Survivors include two sons and three daughters; Mrs. Claude (Edith) Beddoes, San Leandro, Calif; Don Pierce Salem; Dale L. Pierce Huntington Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Robert (Louise) Allen, Baton Rouge, La.; and Mrs. Marcel (Virginia) Keele, Spanish Fork; one half-brother and four half - sisters, Mrs. Ida Monk, Mrs. -Mable Christensen and Lee Lerwill, all of Provo; Mrs. Pearl Taylor, American Fork, and Mrs. Lucille Carter, Springville; 19 grandchildren, and 29 great-grancdchildren. Burial was in Salem City Cemetery. from 1971-1973 when he retired. He and his wife have four, chilren, 17 grandchildren. ' d23 Mother of local resident dies Services are pending from Bountiful Union Mortuary for Dora Call Tolman, 67 who died Saturday, Dec. 13, 1975 at her home following a long illness. ; Two sons live in Utah County. She was born in 1908 in Yucaipa to Schuyler and Edna Goff Call. Survivors include four sons, Donald Tolman, Wayne Tolman both Yucaipa; Marlow Tolmar Lindon; Lynn Tolamn, Springville; 22 grandchildren; one great-grandson; three sisters, Edith Robinson, Downey, Ida.; Wyoma Buckley, Rupert Ida., Thelma Brown Coalville. Hepatitis continues at an incidence twice the annual average for 1970-74 in Salt Lake County. No common sources have been identified; person-to-person spread appears to be operating. This probably reflects a cyclic increase in susceptibles in a community; in 1965-66 and 1970-71 there were peaks of hepatitis activity, and, relative to 1974, children aged 1-11 1-11 years have a higher attack rate this year. LaRell Johnson's living room. It is an inheritance from Mrs. Johnson's paternal grandfather Byron E. Baker. The bible according to the inscription in beautiful handwritten hand-written script in the front was a Christmas present to B.E. Baker from his wife, Celia Rose Beaver in 1889 when the family was living in Tacaoma, Washington. So it was considerable surprise sur-prise and delight that the Johnsons recognized the photo of an exact copy of their Bible reproduced re-produced on a Christmas card they received from family members in Evansville, In diana. c "When we opened the envelope, en-velope, it took us a minute to realize the strange coincidence of seeing our old family friend's picture on a card from halfway across the nation. It looks identical to ours, even to the well-worn corners," Mrs. Johnson explained The bibles were published in 1885 in Portland, Oregon and are called "The Parallel Bible." Mr. Lilly mentioned family and business problems as part of the reason for submitting his resignation at this time. The Central Committee Com-mittee set elections for a new county chairman for January 22, 1976. Other business presented to the Central Committee was a report by Kaye Jensen on the Utah State Central Committee's activities, which included the announcement that Clay Millward had resigned as state treasurer for the American Party. Larry Lilly and Will Christensen reported on their recent trip to the National Committee meeting in Washington D.C. during which the decision was made to hold the 1976 American Party nominating convention in Salt Lake City in June. With the resignation of Larry Lilly, the leadership of the party in Utah County falls on Sandy Hunt of American Fork, who is vice-chairman.
