Show Mrs. Arthur Paxman was hostess hos-tess last Thursday afternoon to the members, of the Dixie Culture club at her home. Mrs. R. C. Lund Jr. reviewed the book, "Never Another Moon", by Helen Topping Miller. Refreshments were served. The following students are expected ex-pected home from the B.Y.U. for the Christmas vacation: Lela Lund, Jean Cottam, Naoma Ford-ham, Ford-ham, Ada Hafen, Ray Schmutz, Mason Cottam, McKay Neilson, Arlo Prisbrey and Mr. and Mrs. Leland Lamoreaux and family. Most of these will arrive late Friday. The Manomas Andrus chapter of the D.U.P. are entertaining all pioneers of the south ward and members of the camp this (Thursday) (Thurs-day) afternoon at the south ward chapel. A special program of pioneer memoirs in song and story is prepared for the event. There is also to be a Christmas tree, a Santa Claus and general celebration. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Aldredge and Mr. and Mrs. Levi Aldredge returned to their homes at Magna Monday evening after attending the funeral services of their brother, Elden. They will stop over at Summit to visit relatives. Miss Lena Nelson is leaving Friday to spend the holiday va cation with relatives in Salt "Lake City. The second girls of the south ward M.I.A. held a pre-Christmas party Tuesday evening at the home of Miss Muriel Cannon. Games were played and luncheon served. The south ward primary held a large Christmas party at the south ward chapel Monday afternoon after-noon and evening. Santa Claus was there and gave the children a pre-Christmas treat. The members mem-bers joined in singing carols and the smaller groups enioved dancing. danc-ing. J. E. Mattis of San Diego, injured in-jured in the bus and car accident acci-dent occuring west of St. George last week, was treated in the McGregor hospital December 16. He was the only person hurt. Mrs. Joseph Leavitt and twin sons left for their home in Mes-quite Mes-quite December 17. Mrs. Smith Nelson and infant son are home from the hospital since December 16. Carol Wilson left for his home in Hillsdale this (Thursday) morning morn-ing for the holiday vacation. Miss Faye Terry arrived Sunday Sun-day from the University of Southern California where she is attending the dental school. She will remain for the holiday vacation. va-cation. Frank Spencer is able to be at home after receiving eye surgery at the local hospital. Raoul and Viola Leavitt left today (Thursday) to spend the Christmas week with their parents par-ents in Delta. Other students of the Dixie college returning to Delta for Christmas vacation are Joe Norton, Talmage Christensen and Leo Cahoun. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Schmutz and infant daughter are home from the U.S.A.C. at Logan to visit over the holidays as guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marcell Schmutz. Rey Fenn of Benson, Ariz., who has been attending the B.Y.U., and Howard Young of Manticello, Utah, visited with St. George relatives Wednesday evening, even-ing, enroute to Arizona and the coast for Christmas holidays. They were guests while here of their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Hy-rum Hy-rum Cox. Mrs. Ellen Carter left last, Friday Fri-day for Salt Lake City where she will visit for several days with her sister, Mrs. 'Cliff Gerard and family. Mr. and Mrs. Malin C. Smith of Bunkerville arrived last Frida morning for a brief visit with Mr. and Mrs. Gus Pendleton. Miss Mary Jarvis came home from Salt Lake City Saturday tc spend the Christmas holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs B. Jarvis Jr. Melvin and Miss Cecil Schmutz are home from Salt Lake City foi the Christmas holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Schmutz. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Russell and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Allred of Springdale were St. George visitors last Friday. Miss Reah Cottam left Monday Mon-day morning for Escalante to spend the Christmas vacation. She is a student of the Dixie college. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Maloney and Mr. and Henry Cornelius of Virgin were St. George business visitors Friday.
