They both were just old enough to watch, with big eyes, the waning of the Roaring Twenties with its aura of fancy dress, outrageous dances, speakeasies, sleek automobiles, hip flasks and the Awful sight of the first women smoking in public. Dottie worked for Cliff Bray, at that time, who was a photographer for the Ann Paulos the least bit S&dm Sterling at one time decided to move to California to open his own jewelry store, but they knew they could never give up their very special home, and they rented it while they were gone. In California, they lived on the Palas Verde Peninsula where Sterling was a watchmaker. They had a very successful business but after about 12 years they missed their home and family, just too much, and moved back into their home in Murray. Sterling fostered a hobby of taxidermy when he was young and mounted many deer heads as well as many other animals. He is very talented with his hands and makes candlesticks, candles, jewelry and ring mountings. He is also interested in lapidary work. In 1951 Sterling was invited to call at the first national Square Dance convention at Riverside, California. He has also called at Knotts-berrfarm and was one of the areas top callers and teachers. He and Dot-ti- e still enjoy square dancing. Dottie has many fond memories of the days when she was growing up. Pearl McHenry Wright their eyes, dim and One of the most exciting cases she remembers in the pictures was the murder of Mrs. Mooremiester, the doctor. The case remains a mystery and is shrouded with overtones the criminal of vice, abortion-rackeelement and it is still talked of with fear by anyone who was at all involved with it, and remains unsolved. Dorothy now is enjoying ceramics. This has been a long time hobby of hers for she was one of the first in S.L. to do her own firing and molding. She writes poetry which is highly acclaimed and does oil paintings for something to relax with. The Sterling Wrights have two children, Marilyn Van Roosendaal of Murray and Rob Wright of Cottonwood. They have three grandchildren and two one of which was born on Christmas morning and another on Veterans Day. All together, the four Wrights have seen, dreamed and accomplished much. Their progenitors reach far back into the pioneer era of this valley w'hen people dared to be different to follow their inner beliefs.
