Three years ago Magna was a small town with a little more than 11,00 people and the only source of med- - took care of a large private practice as well, often coming back on Sunday to care for families of men at the plant. 1 less because when a doctor was willing to set up a practice, his wife refused to live in the area In the spring of 1978, John A Rokich, a Magna attorney, happened to be in the right place at the right time and by offering his land rent-fre- e managed to persuade Holy Cross hospital to locate a health center on a lot next to his law office The hospital set up its operation in a mobile unit, under the direction George Varga and the operation flourished until it soon became evident that an expanded facility was necessary to take care of Dr of the communitys needs. Last week Holy Cross unveiled a new facility at 8370 W. 3500 South (formerly the Mountain Fuel Supply building) offering the services of two medical doctors and a nurse practitioner Drs Nicholas Danforth and Ita Killeen are among eight persons who are basically responsible for manning and staffing the Holy Cross health centers In addition, they are on the faculty of family medicine at the University of Utah Dr Danforth comes from New' Hampshire and received his degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, N Y.
