The two also tried their scheme at the Guadalaliara Restaurant and were stopped by an alert patron who wielded a catsup bottle and ordered them off the premises. ARRESTED were Carnel C. Raines, 25. Duchesne and Richard Curry Jr.. 30 also of Duchesne, and charged with theft by deception. They were booked at the Clearfield Police Department and arraigned before City Judge Cornell M. Mr. Brian died Sunday after suffering severe head and neck injuries when he fell Saturday afternoon from a roof of a neighbor's home. two-yea- d DAVIS County sheriff deputies, who investigated, said Mr Brian was apparently struck by a package of shingles which had been blown by a gust of wind. The impact knocked Mr. Brian off the roof and he fell about 18 to 20 feet, landing on his head and shoulders. He was treated at the scene by Davis paramedics and rushed to an Ogden hospital where he died the following day. SEE accompanying story and obituary, grb Meet Candidates In East Layton On Thursday, Oct. 27, 75 citizens of East Layton met in the city hall to hear the candidates for mayor and councilmen spieak about city issues. All candidates but one were present. EACH candidate gave a two minute summary of their goals for East Layton City. This was followed by a list of prepared questions that were directed to the candidates by the panel chairman. The last 15 minutes were open to questions from the citizens assembled.
