The women's orchestra from the Zion Park Camp furnished preliminary pre-liminary music and other numbers num-bers interspersed the program, -n,;.. o imiiiiip ptoud who band ed together to furish music for their camp, and have come to be a community necessity, playing for many of the dances, when the need arises. The membership includes, in-cludes, Mrs. Marilla Ruesch. Mrs. Narissa Ruesch and Mrs. Nancy Crawford with harmonicas; Mrs. Esther Christ insen, piano; Mrs. Lulu Soegmiller, mandolin; Mrs. Madge Crawford and Mrs. Alvin Allred. guitars. Besides congregational singing of Camp songs. Miss Nellie Snow-sang Snow-sang "The Pride of Glencoe" while Miss Mary Lou Wells and Roy Judd pantomined the number. num-ber. Financial Report Before announcing the newly elected officers, Mrs. Bradshaw gave a brief financial report, telling tell-ing of the balance of Mrs. Hor-tense Hor-tense M. Odium's bequest having been received and spent in beautifying the grounds; the receipt re-ceipt of special cash contributions from Mrs. Henrietta Morris and John W. Pace; of glass ware from Mrs. L. B. Jennings; of silver ware from Mrs. John W. Pace, and of other gifts received by the chapter. Of the camps eligible for the 1939 Marker, the Swiss Camp of Santa Clara was fortunate fortun-ate in being drawn for this honor. A vote of thanks and appreciation was tendered the outgoing officers, offi-cers, Mrs. Wm. B. Bradshaw, Mrs. Chauneey Sandberg, Mrs. Claud Cannon, Mrs. Clara Whitehead. Mrs. Boyd Dennett and Mrs. E. D. Seegmiller. Heading the organization for 1939 are Mrs. A. A. Nelson, president; presi-dent; Mrs. David O. Woodbury, first vice-president, and Mrs". George H. Lytle, second vice-president; vice-president; Mrs. Vernon Worthen, recording secretary; Mrs. H. R. Bentley. corresponding secretary; Mrs. Nelson Empey, historian; Mrs. Dan Heaton. parlimentarian : Mrs. Bud Seegmiller,. organist and Mrs. Hazel Bradshaw, registrar. Holdovers are Mrs. John W. Pace, custodian of the Memorial hall and relics, and Mrs. W. B. Mathis. chaplain. Following the presentation presenta-tion of the new officers Mrs. Nelson responded with a brief address ad-dress in behalf of the entire group, praising the work of her predecessors and enlisting the support of all camps in carrying on the work of the D.U.P. |
